Sandbags & Bouncy Castle Safety
Outdoor Use – Sandbags Are Essential on Hard Surfaces
Sandbags are essential for securing your bouncy castle when it is being installed on hard surfaces such as concrete, asphalt, or paving, where traditional ground pegs cannot be used.
When outdoors, sandbags help keep the castle in place, particularly in light winds. However, sandbags are not as effective as ground pegs, so choosing a sheltered location is extremely important.
For safety reasons, OSH guidelines recommend that bouncy castles must not be inflated or operated in winds exceeding 28 km/h, even when secured with pegs.
The more sheltered your setup location is from the wind, the greater the chance we can safely install your castle. Please keep this in mind when choosing your location, as safety is always our top priority.
Indoor Use – Sandbags Recommended
Sandbags are not always essential for indoor installations, but we highly recommend them when setting up on smooth or hard surfaces such as polished concrete, tiles, or wooden floors.
Bouncy castles can shift or move during use, especially on slippery surfaces. Sandbags provide additional stability and help reduce or prevent unwanted movement.
Our Recommendation: Whether indoors or outdoors, securing your bouncy castle correctly is important for everyone's safety. If you're unsure whether your setup location requires sandbags, please get in touch with our team before booking. We're always happy to help you choose the safest setup option!
